Launch a Workflow from a Chart
Hi all,
I am currently working on a project in our organization that involves the creation and configuration of several charts to display certain data aspects for the features in a selection set.
Having the analitics ability to view data in this manner is a great tool for the end user. However I often get asked if there is any additonal functionality assocaited with the charts which to my knowledge there isn't they are there for the sole purpose of displaying data in a graphical manner and also for reporting purposes. I think the ability to launch a workflow from the chart would be greatly benefitial and open up lots of functionality to the end user (similar to the functionality available in ArcGIS Operations Dashboard).
For example, if a user is seeing a bar chart or pie chart of the breakdown for a certain data attribute (ie. Document Type); the ability to click on that bar or pie peice to launch a workflow that would select the features related to that peice of the pie or bar and preform workflow actions such as download and zip the documents associated with those features or display the assocaited features in a result picker or display form activity would be a nice addition to the charts functionality.
I think the addition of this functionality would greatly benfit the end user and beef up GCX's charting functionalty. Please fell free to provide comments on this if there is a different approach that i can take to accomplish something simliar.

Hi Evan,
The functionality you're describing pertaining to opening upa workflow by clicking on a component of a chart exists. You can configure this using the 'Run Command' checkbox within the chart configuration below. For further reference, I think there was a session on this in one of the Geocortex User conference Deep Dives. Let me know if you can find it, otherwise I can probably dig up my notes on it.Warren
