    This isn't an answer, but something else to try...  Can you try it on Chrome on the iPad to see if it works?   can you even ping the Essentials rest site directly from the iPAD?  

     

    Problems I have had with tablets make me wonder if your server by the name shown isn't accessible to the iPad and whatever network the iPad might be using.  (oxfint.oxfordcounty.local)  .  The ".local" part would make me wonder.  Is that the server name or a fully qualified domain name?

     

    Sorry not an answer, but these are things I have run into when testing on iPads.  If I use an iPad that uses our wireless network at work, weird proxy server errors happen and some things don't work.  But if I use an iPad that uses a data plan and therefore truly "coming from outside", then some things work as expected.  Then another set of issues arise if using VPN to connect to the internal network!

    Thanks for your help Carmen.  It did not work in chrome, I could ping the Essentials rest site directly from the iPAD.

     

    I got thinking about our development server and the .local.  So I decided to try to push it up to production, and the error is gone.  Not sure what the issue was/is. But thank you

    I may have spoken to soon. The error has came back on our production server.  Not sure why it worked for a few days. Nothing changed.

    we also have this issue periodically and only when accessing data with a cellular network.  we also found that the error doesn't mean much, as in our case the activity (in our case attaching inspection records to an asset) does run to completion....more of an annoyance to our users.  we did work with latitude support and I believe they flagged the issue as a bug.  we are running HTML5 2.5.1, not sure if its been addressed in newer versions.
