Can I use a parameter field directly in report designer without going thru a workflow?

I am trying to use a parameter in Report Designer.  I need to get a project name to add to a mailing label report.  I would prefer to use a report parameter so users have access to this mailing label report along with the standard mailing label rport.

 

I have defined the parameter with Prompt User set to true.  The parameter field has been added to the report layout.  However when I run the report I am not prompted for the parameter.  

 

I am new to Report Designer so what am I missing?

  Hi Barry, 

   

  If you want to allow the user the option of adding a few parameters to the report, then it has to be done through a workflow unfortunately. Let me know if you want instructions on how to do that.
