search tables vs data link search
What is the difference between the seach tables and the data link search. Ive built tons of data link searches for a particular Parcels layer but never had to build those in the "search tables". Is there an advantage to using the search table function vs just building the queries inside the data link section of a particular layer? Any information on what the Search table funciton does that maybe the data link search doesn't do, would be most helpful.

Hi Raoul,
The search table is used to query non-spatial data that is not connected or related to a layer in your site. So for example, if you have a list of departments that you want the user to have access to but it does not contain any geometry and it does not relate to any of your layers, then you can still add it to your site by creating a search table that will allow the user to query for a department using the Global Search.
Data Links, on the other hand, is related to a layer and its information is always displayed with a feature either in the feature details pane or in a link at the bottom of the pane. It cannot be displayed alone like a search table result.
I hope this helps.
