Adding a GeoRSS feed

I'm trying to add a GeoRSS feed to my map where the URL is formatted as rss20.ashx?UID=XX&PWD=XX. When I add the map service the name of the service appears in my layers list and Geocortex knows the coordinate system of the map service, however, no data appears and I get an error pop-up saying "Cannot read property 'nodeValue' of null. Can anyone shed some light on what this error refers to? The feed works fine in another web application developed with other software.

 

One potential issue is that the GeoRSS uses WGS84 whereas my map is ED50 Z31N, I don't know if you can specify an on the fly reprojection?
