How can I create a circle feature in an editable layer?
I have a polygon layer for editing. How can I create circle features?
Thanks

It's a simple question with a less-straightforward answer.
Intuitively, creating a feature doesn't seem different from creating markup; either way, you're drawing points, lines, or polygons on your map. So it seems like you ought to be able to select a circle or ellipse or rectangle tool as easily as the default polygon tool.
It turns out that this isn't the case: the tool used to draw a new feature is constrained as part of the configuration of the feature layer itself, as is the new feature's styling and data attributes. We have no control over these things on the Essentials or viewer side of things.
I pinged a few of our ArcMap experts around the office to see if anyone could recall, off the top of their heads, how you would go about overriding the default polygon tool in a feature layer's FeatureTemplate, but it's not something anyone here has had to do. I did find this (http://www.esri.com/esri-news/arcuser/fall-2015/using-feature-templates-for-complex-editing) Esri article through (https://geonet.esri.com/) GeoNet , which might be helpful.0 -
I tried Web AppBuilder. It does have this capability to create circle, ellipse, rectangle, or triangle features. 0 -
So it does -- that's interesting. I'll dig a little deeper. 0 -
Alternately, I use a workflow to create point buffers. 0
