Run External Command - OpenWebPage

We just upgraded to GE 4.5.1 and GVH 2.6.1 and now one of our workflows isn't working properly.  The RunExternalCommand OpenWebPage won't open the page.  Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

  Hi Stephanie,

   

  I just tested this, and it works for me.  Are you seeing any alerts about the URL not being trusted, or does the site simply fail to load?

   

  Is the URL being populated by a variable?  Maybe put an alert box before the external command and pass in the variable (to make sure it's being assigned correctly).

  Hi Daniel,

   

  The workflow works ok on the GE 4.2.2 / GVH 2.3.3 site, so the variable with the URL is ok.  I even tried hardcoding a URL in the command parameter.  That didn't work either.

   

  I put an alert box before and after the Run External Command.  I can see something flashing, but it is so fast I can't see the message.  I'm using both Fiddler and the Developer Tools in IE and I can't isolate the problem.

  I just found two errors:

   

  DojoLoaderError:  Failed to load dojo module (http://js.arcgis.com/3.16/esri/SnappingManager.js).

   

  and

   

  DojoLoaderError:  Failed to load dojo module (http://js.arcgis.3.16/esri/geometry/geometryEngineAsync.js).

   

  Those are presented when I first launch the site.  I'm still trying to find what the quick error is when workflow tries to launch the webpage.

  Hi Stephanie,

   

  I'm not too sure why the URL is blank, that sounds like it should be working.

   

  I would suggest opening a support case, so one of the analysts can take a look at this issue with you.

  Danny,

   

  I just created a new workflow that was nothing accept the RunExternalCommand -> OpenWebPage surrounded by alerts.  This time I did get the warning about the URL not being a trusted site.  Maybe that's the problem after all?

  Hi Stephanie,

   

  That's entirely possible.  You can read about adding trusted URLs in section 20.1 of the GVH admin and developer guide.

  Thank you so much, Danny!

   

  That was it.  The alert about the trusted site was not being displayed in the original workflow.  It wasn't until I tested the OpenWebPageURL all by itself in a new workflow that I caught that warning.

  One more request though if you don't mind, do you think you could send me your workflow?  I'm curious why you didn't see the warning.  That sounds like a bug to me.
