how do i limit the number or rows in a subreport?

i have a multicolumn subreport that needs to fit in a limited area box in the main report.  right now the subreport only gives one column, even though i specified 4. So How do i force a new column after fifteen rows of data.   ( i have 4 columns and upto 60 rows of data)  this is a subreport called from a main report.  the subreport widget in the main report limits the rows, but does not force a new column.

  Hi Jeff,

   

  The column formatting for a multi-column subreport will only take effect if the visible area for the subreport exactly matches the paper size of the embedded report.

   

  Basically, you must make sure that your subreport matches the size of the template area.  Even then we've had troubles getting the columns to flow properly (for example, with the Legend).
