Portal Map Service Item Sharing Levels

To search for Portal Map/Feature Services do you have to set the sharing to everyone? Or can it be just groups, etc? Any suggesdtions on groups/permissions in Portal for searching and adding Map Services in GE?

 

We have setup ArcGIS for Portal 10.4.1, GE 4.5.1 & GVH 2.6.1, Reverse Proxy for External Access, and have added the Geocortex Applications (x3) to Portal and registered the APP ID successfully via the Post Configuration Tool.

  Hello Conner,

  It is possible to configure Essentials to access public and private services, depending on how it is configured. Adding Portal for ArcGIS as a service connection will allow you to search for public content, but private content requires you to use Portal for ArcGIS as a sign-in provider, as configured through the post installation process.

   

  See the chapter named 'Portal for ArcGIS' within the Administrator Guide for instructions on how to do this.

   

  Once you've configured these resources to be used by Essentials, you can set the individual service settings for your sites on the Permissions section. There, you can allow and deny access to organizations, groups, and individuals.
