HTML5 2.7 Layer Catalog + secured services
Unreasonably excited for layer catalog in 2.7, but am having an issue. Have a layer catalog site set up, with a reference to it set up in the primary site. All goes well but the layer never gets added. We have security on all of the services loaded in our LC site. Developer tools show "Error in initializing layer: Error: No token available for service https://<service path>. I've tried adding the layer when logged in (arcserver and Geocortex using windows-based security) with the same result.
Is layer catalog set up to handle secured services? If so, what's the trick for getting things wired correctly so that the layers can be added.
Thanks -
Allen

Hi Allen,
I'm happy to say that this issue (token secured services not working when added through the layer catalog) is reported fixed in 2.7.1 :)
Per our support case, these services work when we use web tiered security.
I hope that helps!
Thanks,

Hi Danny,
So, can we download the 2.7.1 version? I can't seem to locate it on the download page.0 -
Jeff - My understanding is that the fix is in Essentials 4.6.1, and there is no 2.7.1 yet for HTML5 Viewer.
My experience is that all of the saving and layer catalog functionality works correctly with Essentials 4.6.1 and GVH 2.7

Hi Jeff,
Sorry, 2.7.1 isn't out yet. Our target for maintenance releases is within 6-8 weeks of the original product launch, so it should be released in the next few weeks.
Thanks!

Hi again Danny -
We have things working w/ Web Tier security + layer catalog. Bit of a pain though, in that for each layer you add in via Catalog, the ArcServer machine asks the user for credentials. So if you add 5 layers, enter your credentials 5 times.
I would love to find a way to have the layer catalog site actually remember the credentials that were provided when adding the services to the site (similar to token-based security behavior). May be an issue with our set up/IIS and things like that, but am curious if this is something that should be possible.

Ok - disregard, seems to be working correctly now. All it took was for me to post this to ensure embarrassment. 0 -
No worries Allen, glad that it's working!
Thanks,
