Data Links/Data Connection Error
Hello, I need help fixing this error....
On configuration element [Site (ID: "Aggregate")/Map/MapServices/MapService (ID: "96")/Layers/GroupLayer (Name: "Surficial Aggregate Data")/SubLayers/GroupLayer (Name: "Surficial Aggregate Sites (d194wspq)")/SubLayers/Layer (Name: "Surficial Aggregate Sites (zoomed out)")/DataLinks/DataLink (ID: "TextSheet")]: The component referenced by the DataConnectionID field does not exist at the path /Site/DataConnections/DataConnection[@ID='168'].
nfortunately I thought that I had deleted all the data connections and data links on my application, but I did not. Now I can not load my application at all in order to delete the data links associated with these connections. Please help. I'd really really like to not have to rebuild the whole entire application again.
On another note...how come the data connection won't read an updated excel spreadsheet? It seems that every time I update the excel spreadsheet that contains the data connection, it's not being read. So I've been deleting the data link, then the data connection. Saving the site, then making a new data connection, then a data link in order to viewer to properly link into the updated spreadsheet. This is getting to be tiresome and I'd like to know what I am doing wrong. Thank you Sonya

Hi Sonya,
When you say the data connection won't read an updated excel spreadsheet, do you mean that the updates don't appear when you view it after an update? Or that it won't load at all? I'm wondering if it's a caching issue.
To resolve the error, I'd suggest contacting our (To: support@latitudegeo.com) support team. They should be able to help resolve your error and also help you find a less frustrating process for future updates.0 -
Thank you Jordan. The issue with the Data Connections is that I deleted them. Now my application won't load at all because their are data links looking for those data connections. I am looking for a work around. Where can I go to delete data links without being able to use the gui interface of Geocortex?
I did contact the support team. Currently waiting a reply.0 -
Hi Sonya
I guess you have two approaches add the Data Connections back into the site.xml file OR delete the Datalinks sections from the site.xml file. Every layer that has Datalinks will have it's owns Datalinks section in the site.xml file.
Neither is particularly difficult using a text editor. Even better to use one that avoids you deleting any extra element tags etc.
Take a backup first.
