Hide feature layer form 'Create New Feature'
Hi there,
Is there anyway to hide one feature layer from the 'Create New Feature' button? (HTML5V 2.6.1)
The feature layer should only be available if it is on the visible scale or visible in the map I would gather...
Even if removing it from group layer, the feature layer is still available in the button.
Thank you,

Hi Mariana,
Unfortunately, you cannot hide the "Create New Feature" tool for a particular layer. If you want to add this tool to your toolbar, then it will automatically be available for all feature layers added to the site.
If you want to customize it so that this layer can only be edited at a certain scale, then you will have to build a custom Create Feature workflow just for this layer. In the site, you can reference the map service and then reference the feature layer in the workflow to enable the editing.
I hope this helps

Hi Carmen.
Is it possible to set/sort the order of the feature layers in the list that becomes visible when using the 'Create New Feature' button?0 -
Hi Rene,
The order that the feature layers appear in the "Create New Feature" tool follows the same order as your Map Services Tab in Essentials Manager. So if you want the layers to appear in a certain order, you will have to adjust how your layers appear in the map services tab. This same tab also determines the layers' drawing order as well. The layers on the bottom of the list will be placed behind everything. So please keep that in mind when adjusting your site.
I hope this helps.

Hi Carmen,
Do you know why a feature layer without "Create" operations allowed (in Service Editor > Capabilities > Feature Acess) appears when clicking the "Create New Feature" tool ? It doesn't make sense to me...I want the properties of my layer features to be editable, but not be able to create or delete features.

Hi Frédéric
The services with no Create operation appearing in the Create New Feature View is definitely a bug. I have filed it in our internal tracking software as GVH-16052 and added you as a stakeholder. Hopefully we can get it solved in an upcoming release.
Let me know if you have any other questions,

Hi there Corey...
any news on this bug. I'm trying to hide an AGOL feature service layer from an external department, from being in the Create New Feature list of items. We just want to view the features, not enable editing..
thanks

Can you add it using an account that doesn't have edit rights on the layer and see if it still appears? Just wondering if that would make it appear as a non-editable feature service to Geocortex. 0
