Technical information regarding Set and Get External Values

Hi,

 

Would it be possible have some technical information re Set and Get External Values.

 

I’m thinking to use the activities in an extensive way in my Geocortex application but, for security reasons, I need to know if they are browser session based, cookie based, if and when values expire, ...

  Hi Francesca,

   

  The Set External Value activity doesn't store anything in the browser's storage. The activity's values are actually stored within the viewer application itself, which is why they're only available while that viewer persists. If the user reloads the page, any values set using Set External Values will be lost.

   

  As of version 4.4, Essentials has a Workflow_Samples site in its Sample Sites directory. If you load that site in an HTML5 viewer in Google Chrome, you can use the developer tools to monitor the viewer's use of the browser storage on the tools' Application tab.
