Context Menu Problems When Labeling
Hello,
I have been trying to work on upgrading our viewer to the newest version (HTML5 2.7.0) and as part of this, we are really excited about the user-enabled labeling and symbolizing features. I have been encountering one small issue that I was wondering about, though. When I turn on the Dynamic option for a service, the labeling and symbolizing options appear in the "Layer Actions" context menu, which is great. However, some of our layers within that service do not have labels associated with them, yet the option to toggle them on and off still remains.
Is there a way to not show the label options for those layers that do not have labels turned on in the service? Or is the "Hide on Disable" feature that appears in Manager only applicable if all of the labels in the service are not available? What I'm trying to avoid is having the option of toggling available to the user, them expecting it to do something and nothing happening. Not a huge deal, but maybe it can be avoided.
Thanks!
Greg

Hi Greg,
The Label Toggling in the HTML5 viewer automatically shows up if the map service's "Has Labels:" property is set to TRUE at the Arc REST endpoint. So if you do not want the Toggling feature to show up, then you need to ensure that the map service's has label property is to set FALSE. You can set the property to false by turning off the labels for the layer in ArcMap before you publish it.
I hope this helps.
