GE fails to reorder the results of “global search” according to the order of the layers in the layers frame.

Hi All,

 

For example, when searching for ??? , Ramallah community appears below the results from the colonies layer, taking in consideration that the communities layer is above the colonies layer in the layers frame. See the below screenshots.

 

I used GE 4.6.0/ GVH 2.7.0

 

 

 

 

What might be the issue here?

  Hi Lubna,

   

  The HTML5 viewer doesn't do any sorting of search results; it displays them in the order it receives them from the server. In 2.8, you'll be able to group search results by layer.

   

  

   

  I'm not sure if the layers will necessarily be in the order that they appear in the layer list, however -- I'll ask.

  I've confirmed with team: there won't be a sort order on grouped results, either; the groups will appear in the order in which their first features appear.

  Hi Jordan,

   

   

   

  But why it is impossible to have an option in geocortex manager to let the results respect the order of layers in frame? Or even to have the right to set the order of results the way we prefer?

   

   

   

  The issue here, is that, sometimes, geocortex starts displaying results for the layers that are less important! We need to avoid this inconveniences for our users!
