Now Available: Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 2.5.1

Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 2.5.1 is (https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCDownloads?productTitle=Essentials&sub-nav=downloads&main-nav=essentials#Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight) now available for download . As mentioned previously, this will be the final release of our Silverlight viewer and the viewer has now transitioned to (https://support.geocortex.com/resource/1471483761000/geocortex_lifecycle_policy) mature support . We will continue to offer support for the Silverlight viewer to all licensed users for the foreseeable future. We currently do not have a retirement date planned for the Silverlight viewer, but it will not be for some time, and we will give as much advance notice as possible (one year, at the very least).

 

I would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to our viewer licensees, past and present, for all your support, and your patience. We've come a long way since that hectic and exciting end of 2010, when we tied a ribbon on the first official Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight. While we're proud of all the work we've done to bring the HTML5 viewer to the point where it can accomplish (nearly) everything the Silverlight viewer is capable of, we're well aware that there are a few missing capabilities preventing some of you from switching over, and are actively working on making those features available.

 

This release addresses a number of issues that have affected customers, including:

• GVS-5811    When adding a hyphen (-) to the text to search in an auto-complete, it's added at the beginning of the string in the where clause
• GVS-6002    Cannot query/identify on copied layers
• GVS-6104    Query tool does not always use configured proxy page
• GVS-6138    Empty containers are shown when filtering layer list
• GVS-6154    Tiled services will not load when minimum scale is set, unless visibility is on by default
• GVS-6187    Clicking and holding on the time slider bar generates a large number of export requests
• GVS-6190    Shapefile layer missing from layer list after loading a project if catalog layer in saved project
• GVS-6193    Layer toggles visibility unexpectedly when other layers' visibility is toggled
• GVS-6204    Editing Symbolization Style defaults to SOLID
• GVS-6207    Update Graphics Layer does not add text graphic to map
• GVS-6224    Documentation for rolling back GVS is incomplete
