print map doesn't show base map that is visible in viewer
I'm using the ESRI world imagery base map in this site - http://maps.rdos.bc.ca/Html5Viewer/?viewer=publicparcels
When I have the imagery base map on and use print map, the resulting pdf file does not always show the imagery. It seems like if I search for a property (e.g. 65 Fish Lake Rd) and zoom to the feature, there is no imagery in the printed map. This also happens sometimes when manually zooming in to closer (larger?) scales. It seems to be somewhat random because I can zoom in to other areas manually and print a map with the imagery. My understanding was that the print map function basically just takes a screen shot. Is what I'm experiencing a known issue in 2.6.1?

What scale are the prints that come up blank? The ESRI services probably only print to 1:1128 0 -
All scales are coming out blank sometimes. It's the 'sometimes' that makes it so hard to figure out. 0 -
Almost sounds like the viewer is not recognizing the base layers are there when making certain print requests. Fiddler may show what calls are being made (or not being made) during the print operation. 0 -
Hi Rebecca,
The ESRI world imagery basemap (http://services.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/World_Imagery/MapServer) that your site contains, doesn't have tile info available at some certian scales and extents, so the basemap doesn't appear in the printed map.
For example, when you searched for "65 Fish LK Rd" and zoom to the feature, the basemap doesn't have a tile for that specific scale and extent. This works as expected based on how the service behaves, but I filed an improvement to handle this case better.
Please use this ticket ID (GE-8674) to track in future release.
Kind Regards,
Pairin
