Unable to remove layers in Layer Catalog site

Working in GE 4.6.2 and GVH 2.7.1 -

 

Configuring a Layer Catalog site, adding a bunch of services, we want to remove some layers within the added services.  When I delete the individual layers via the 'Map Services' tab, as soon as I apply changes and save, the layers re-appear.  Additionally, in the service editor > add/remove layers, I cannot select individual layers to remove - just group layers. 

 

Is this a service properties issue? Or am I missing something with GE configuration that behaves differently in a Layer Catalog site vs regular site?

  Hi Allen,

   

  I just tested this, and I am not able to reproduce the issue.  It's possible that it is a service property issue, as you suspected.  The service and layer configuration should be the same in a layer catalog site as it is in a standard site.  

   

  I would suggest opening a new support case so we can help you investigate.

  I've worked with this a little bit more, and found that it's not specific to Layer Catalog sites.  The issue is that if a layer is part of a group layer in the map service, you cannot remove it individually from the site - you have to either remove the whole group layer that it is part of, or not remove it at all. 

   

  Wondering if this is by design, or a bug. 

   

  We need to be able to add/remove layers on ocassion as our databases evolve etc.
