    Hello Andrew,

This behaviour is currently not available. I'll add your name to an existing feature request.

It is possible to configure security on a number of features on the site, like the Layer Themes, Print Templates, Workflows, and others. What you can do is to create a workflow, set permissions on the workflow and set the 'Hide on Disable' option. For anyone apart from the signed-in user, that tool will not appear in the toolbar.

    Thanks, Stefan

Did permission settings for tools ever get implemented?  I'm hoping to do the same thing - where the Linked Map button is only shown for credentialed users but not anonymous access.  If not - can you explain and/or show examples of how a workflow would accomplish this on startup?

    Hi Becca,

You still cannot set user permissions on individual tool items in the toolbar.  Stefan's instructions will work if the toolbar buttons run a workflow - you can set permissions on the workflow, and configure the toolbar button to Hide on Disable.  Then, if a user can't run the workflow, the button to run the workflow will be disabled and it won't appear on the toolbar.

Unfortunately, you cannot control other types of toolbar buttons (that run normal commands and not workflows).

Any got a workflow handy to demonstrate disabling a toolbar item?   Or can point me to the help?

    Thanks

There are some new viewer commands in GVH 2.12 to display and hide toolbar elements, e.g. HideToolbarButton
