Feature layer fails to appear on map in GE Manager

I'm trying to speed up the initial load time of my HTML5 viewer but adding feature layers instead of whole map services (as recommended in the Knowledge Base).  The odd thing is that the feature layer does not appear on the map in Manager BUT it does appear on the map in the 2.7.1 HTML5 Viewer.  What would be causing this?

  Hello Stephanie,

  Depending on your security settings (token, Windows, proxy) on the feature layer or Manager, this can sometimes cause them to fail to display in Manager, but display properly in the viewer.

   

  You might be able to determine the error using Fiddler. If possible, can you capture the requests when you open a site and when you open a viewer, save them, and email them to sschweigert@latitudegeo.com , I might be able to sort out the issue.
