Exit viewer from a workflow in HTML5 or open web page in current window?

    Hey Sean,

I'm not sure there is a way to replace the URL of the current browser tab via a command. It might be possible to present the user with a workflow form to click a link.

Alternatively you'd need to make a custom module to handle the action automatically.

    Sean,

Any luck?  I'm using the OpenWebPage external command in the HTML5 viewer, but I really want it to just use the same tab, not open up another tab/window.

No luck yet. Well, no effort to forge any luck yet. It's apparent that acustom piece of JavaScript code is needed. If you have any JavaScript coders handy, they can write a cusotm JavaScript function and incorporate it into your viewer configuration so it can be called from the workflow with a RunExternalCommand activity. We found other workarounds for what we were trying to accomplish.

I still wish Latitude would do this work for us by bringing back the workfow activity they had for SilverLight . . . Latitude?  Hello?  sigh

Thanks, Sean.  Totally agree.  This functionality needs to be there.

    Sean,

    I found this post:

Brian posted some code that will open the URL in the same window.  I would love to see this be an out of the box solution so I don't have to manually add it to every site's Desktop.json.js file.

oooh.  That looks tasty.  But, yes, it would be nice not to have to manually add it to every .json . . . I don't need it in every viewer, though . . . so . .

Thanks for the heads up to this post!

I agree!! The ability to create a customized Sign in url is great, but with no way of applying it to a site to open target=_sefl kind of defeats the purpose, right!
