Viewer name?
I want to shorten the url in our HTML5 viewer sites. I've read this solution:
https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCkba?sub-nav=kba&main-nav=essentials&#!/feedtype=SINGLE_ARTICLE_SEARCH_RESULT&id=kA360000000Cina
My question: In order to implement the solution above, I need to enter the "viewername" in the index.html file. I have three sites configured, but I think they might all have the same viewer name (I'm assuming the viewer name is the same as the folder name I see under my Sites folder for each site?).
So if I make the changes to the index.html file, will that have negative consequences for each of my sites?

What versions are you on? While that method does still work, it is an older post for older versions. The most current versions allow you to set the shortened URL when editing the viewer in Essentials.
There is a 'Short Viewer URLs' section of the latest GVH Admin Guide.
As far as the method you mention above, you can make the 'viewername' in the index.html whatever you want. It does not need to match the viewer name in Essentials. What is important is the path you enter for the viewer, it must point to the location of the config files for the viewer you want to load.0 -
Thanks Dan. We're still at GE version 4.4.3, and GVH version 2.5.2. The updates are taken care of by a different department, and so far they haven't moved on it so I'm trying to work with what I have.
Thanks for the advice and clarification on the process!0
