SDE Datefield

I have a SDE layer feeding a webmap service, I do like for the date field on the webmap service to rank from newest date to oldest date.  Any suggestions on proceeding with this?

  Hi Ben,

   

  The viewer only has a notion of sort order when you are in tabular view.  In list view, the features are listed in the order they are returned from the server.

   

  So, I don't think there is a way to suggest which field would be sorted.  However, if you used a spatial view as your data source, you may be able to add an ORDER BY in the view definition to have the features returned from ArcGIS Server in a specific order.
