access feature map via url

Can I access the feature map via url?  I want to use url to export the feature map for the selected feature.  Can I use the feature map without the report?

  Hi Hwa Saup, 

   

  Yes, you can access the feature map outside of reports via a url. Once you add a feature map to a layer and save the site, that tool gets exposed at the Essentials REST endpoint so you just need to navigate to it. If you go to the Essentials REST endpoint of the layer, there is a link to the feature map at the bottom of the page. This is an example of what the URL would look like: 

   

  http://gedemo.geocortex.com/Geocortex/Essentials/Prod/REST/sites/LA_County_/map/mapservices/Dynamic/layers/16/featuremaps/ZipCodeFeatureMap/extract

   

  This url is taken from our LA County Demo site (http://gedemo.geocortex.com/Html5Viewer/Index.html?configBase=http://gedemo.geocortex.com/Geocortex/Essentials/Prod/REST/sites/LA_County_/viewers/LA_HTML/virtualdirectory/Resources/Config/Default).

  thanks Carmen.  How can i generate a feature map using url request?  For example, LA County, can I send the zip code value in the url to generate the feature map?  In the window I only see the geometry.

  Hi Hwa Saup,

   

  The URL does require geometry in order to produce a feature map.  When you run a report on a feature from the viewer this is passed along automatically, but if you are running the report from just a url you will have to provide the geometry yourself.  It isn't designed to do searches based on attribute fields.

   

  Perhaps you could describe what you're hoping to accomplish in more detail so we can figure out if there's a good solution or alternative?
