Slow results from global search

Hi, 

 

we have a HTML5 site (2.7.1 viewer, GCE 4.6) where global search is very slow (> 30 seconds to return 20 adresses). The global search uses a map service to query a point feature class. I've used Fiddler to see which URL is sent from Geocortex when I search. If I post the same query in my browser, I get results in less than a second. I cannot see any reason why it should take this long to get my search results in the site.

 

Has anyone else experienced the same?

  Hi Turid,

   

  Can you try issuing your request from a browser after a period of inactivity?  (Say, a day or more).

   

  We have seen problems like this when authentication is required, and when database tables may become disconnected.

   

  In this case, the first request will be delayed while the server negotiates a new connection to the database, or reconnects to the directory service to authenticate the user.  After that, the requests go quickly.

   

  To further troubleshoot, you must examine all of the components between web server and data that might slow down the request (including hardware and network layers), measure performance, and correct as needed.
