AGO Hosted Vector Basemaps & Print Templates
Has anyone gotten AGO hosted vector base maps to show up in your print templates?
They don't show up in my printouts, is there a trick?
Anyone run into the same issue?

same issue here. Could get AGO hosted vector base maps shown in print. tested under both HTTP and HTTPS connection. in firefox and chrome web broswer. Latitude please address. thank you. 0 -
There are a few caveats around the use of vector tile maps, as is noted in the Geocortex Essentials Administrator Guide:
At the time of the Geocortex Essentials 4.5 release, vector tile layers are still in development at Esri. Do not use ArcGIS vector tile layers in a production Essentials system. For information about vector tile layer limitations, refer to the "Considerations for using vector tiles" section in ArcGIS Online's (https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/reference/tile-layers.htm) Vector Tile Layers article.
That section needs its wording updated -- there's no longer a "Considerations..." section on that Esri reference page, however, there is still this note:
Maps containing an Esri vector basemap are printed with the Esri Streets basemap. All other maps containing vector tile layers are printed without the vector tile layers.
We're looking at solutions for printing or exporting of vector basemaps, but there's still a lot that needs to be done there, and I can't give any kind of timeline, unfortunately. I feel your pain, though -- they're very snappy and the resymbolization is great.0 -
Jordan, is there any update on using ESRI vector basemaps in Geocortex? The vector tiles are super powerful and we'd love to be able to leverage them. 0 -

Hi,
I just tested ESRI Light Gray Canvas Vector Tile Service and it works. This is with Essentials 4.9 and above. See the attached screenshot.

Hi Mike,
The issue is the inability to render vector basemaps from the Print widget in GVH. Adding the vector basemaps to the map services works fine, but we cannot print with them. Screenshot of the output with the behavior I mentioned is below.

Unfortunatley, printing vector basemaps won't be in the next release (2.11) and it's uncertain when it will be added.

hi Mike, do you think it's gonna be implemented printing vector basemap in the future GVH3 along with the 3D view and rotated map? we really want to leverage vector basemap to improve the map performance and the user experience 0 -

Thank you for the update. We are looking forward to being able to print using the vector basemaps. On that note, do you know if it is possible to Export Map Image through a workflow using vector basemaps? We really want to get around the 96dpi on the old ESRI basemaps.

Hello all,
I don't expect this to be resolved in Essentials/GVH but "Printing 5" will be released soon and this will be able to be used with GVH, much the same way Workflow 5 and Reporting 5 can be.
