In View/Edit Attributes how can I conditionally hide and show a field?

In the View/Edit Attributes form for my Sign Inventory feature class everything works nicely. The last field on the form is Date Retired, which I'd like to be able to hide for signs that have Sign Status value of Active or null. Is this possible, and how? Being it's in Edit Feature and not a workflow, there is no RuntimeModifications to set that I know of.

 

I'd additionally like to display the Date Retired field the moment Sign Status is changed to Retired. Is this possible, and how?

  Hi Justin,

   

  Unfortunately using the OoB feature editing you have no control over the form that is displayed.  You can however recreate the same functionality using a workflow and you would then have control.  Using the "Context Menus" page you can hide the OoB commands and only display your workflow option, on the toolbar.
