Sort order for table results

    Hi Shana,

I think there are a couple of options:

    - Use "Sort Feature Set" activity: you can specify the FeatureSet and attribute to sort

    - If you are using a query task to extract values to show in result table you can use “Order by field” input parameter of the query task: you would need to create a list of type OrderByfield, Insert item to that list with detail of attribute (one or more) that you would like to order by and pass the list as input parameter of the query task. (images below should give more detailed info)

I hope this is what you are looking for ...

Thank you, Francesca.  Unfortunately, I was looking for a way to sort the results table from the out of the box identify tools.  I'm starting to think that I need to re-write the identify tool in a workflow, but worry that this will not perform as well.  I was hoping that there was a way to set the sort field in the site.xml or Manager.

    Thanks again - Shana

    Hi Shana,

Unfortunately this isn't an option in the HTML5 viewer's results list/table when using the out of the box tools.  The results display in the order that they were returned by ArcGIS Server (we don't specify anything for "Order By Fields" when the service is queried).  Perhaps we could include a property to let you configure the default "order by" field for each layer in Essentials Manager, but this would have to be a new addition.

We do have an improvement request filed, GVH-7237, that I will add you to as a stakeholder.  There is also a linked (https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCIdeasDetail?c=09a6000000008RsAAI&id=087600000004MejAAE&categ=&sub-nav=ideas&main-nav=essentials) Idea post here . I think this one would be worth re-posting a new Idea for though; the previous Idea could potentially be dismissed as completed now that GVH 2.8 includes layer-based grouping in the results list.  It would definitely be useful for us to know how many users still require more organization for their results after 2.8.

    Thanks,

    Amanda
