Search - returns too many results
I am not understanding why Search returns so many results for a simple address search. None of my layers have Global Search activated. Instant search is configured with "Maximum Results" of 3 and a search for a simple address like "4301 Balcones Woods Drive,Austin,Tx" returns 12 results many of which are not even close.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,

Do you have a geocoder available via the Global Search? 0 -
Yes sir as far as I know - under GIS Services the service url for geocoder services is:
https://geocode.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World/GeocodeServer

Turn it off and try a Global Search. Those results look like they are from a geocoder.
We have that issue, too, with our composite geocoder. It returns results from all the locators in the composite instead of from just the first.0 -
Ok I tried turning it off and then no results are returned. This should work anyway if the "Maximum Results" was honored as I set in the configuration which is still set at 3. Additionally a 0-100% score is returned for each found item found and typically anything less than 90% is not a good search match. So it would make sense to me if you could configure this in the settings - something like "Return Only Scores > 90" where 90 is the user configurable number. According to current behaviour I am seeing this "score" filter would return the most accurate results. On the screen shot below the search was for "4301 Balcones Woods Drive,Austin,Tx"
Just my 2c.

I agree about the geocoding. I don't think you can currently configure that in Geocortex, it just gives all the results returned by the geocoding service. If you don't have access to the locator to change the settings there is nothing you can do unless you create a custom activity for geocoding.
I thought you were working with the Geocortex Instant Search on one of your services. That is what the 'Instant Search Settings' are for. It won't have any affect on the geocoders.0
