I have is set to show the Feature description
_img_ alt="User-added image" src="https://latitudegeo--c.na53.content.force.com/servlet/rtaImage?eid=90660000000PEUm&feoid=Body&refid=0EM60000000HYMq"_/_img_
Is there another area where I can set this?
Also I have noticed that the layer list text wraps. Is threre a way to have it not warp and just get cut off?

Hi Craig,
About layer list name wrapping issue, chat with our graphic designer, we can make the layer list name wrap better, but we won't cut off the text anymore.

Can this be bumped up to a high priority (if it's not already)? We use Feature Descriptions for a variety of hyperlinks (to external documents, and also to fire off workflows). As a workaround I copied the Feature Description into Feature Long Description. It looks fine, but when you click on a hyperlink, instead of opening the link, it opens up the attribute table. Big problem for us, and I'll need to downgrade until it's fixed. 0 -
Just to clarify, there seem to be 2 issues. One, the Feature Description isn't honored. Two, hyperlinks don't work in the Feature Long Description (and maybe the Feature Description???) 0 -
Did this really not get caught in the beta!? Any idea when we will see this get addressed? Not sure I can upgrade as it is... What happens if there is nothing in the Feature Long Description? 0 -
Hi Chris -
We plan to include the the Feature Long Description bug fix (GVH-15014) in the 2.8.1 release. In the meantime, you may be able to work around the issue by making the following change to your configuration files:- Proceed to the "Results" module
- Proceed to the view called "FeatureSetResultsView"
- For "Feature Description" mode, change the "configuration.contentField" element value to "description"
- For "Feature Long Description" mode, change the "configuration.contentField" element value to "longDescription"

We have not filed a separate bug for the hyperlink issue. We will take a look at that issue and get back to you with our findings.0 -
Thanks Steve, that will work to get Feature Description showing instead of Feature Long.
As for the hyperlink problem, it appears to be a problem with IE11 and Firefox, but Chrome works fine. I can control this for our internal users, but not for our external users.
If I need to downgrade from Essentials 4.7/GVH 2.8 back to Essentials 4.6.2/GVH 2.7.1, how do I go about doing it? Do I need to completely uninstall Essentials and start over, or just change the viewer management pack?
Thanks!0 -
Hi Chris -
We tested the hyperlinks issue here (in Chrome, Firefox and IE) but were not able to reproduce the issue locally. I reviewed the issue with our Support staff, who recommends that you file a Support issue. They will be able to gather additional information relevant to your site that will help us sort out this issue for you.
With respect to your downgrade back to Essentials 4.6.2/GVH 2.7.1, you will have to uninstall Essentials and start over.
Please let me know if you require further assistance.0 -
Thanks Steve. I'm guessing the hyperlink problem issue related to the thread https://support.geocortex.com/EssentialsGSCForum?sub-nav=forum&main-nav=Essentials&#!/feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_DETAIL&dc=All_Essentials&criteria=ALLQUESTIONS&id=90660000000PEVVAA4 If I have my FeatureDetails defaultViewMode set to "compact", I get the same two-click behaviour that the other thread talks about. My sites have defaultViewMode set to "expanded". I'm guessing that when the two-click behaviour is fixed, my hyperlink problem will go away. 0 -
Feature Long Description is still not supporting hyperlinks in the results tab in GVH 2.8.2 BTW. Easy work around it to just use "Feature Description" 0
