Data connection issues in Essentials 4.7.0

After upgrading to Essentials 4.7.0, one of our instances will not recognize Data Connection strings configured in the server machine.config file.  We were forced to put the data connection back into the workflow SQL Activity.

 

Does anyone have an explanation why the SQL Activity works with a server-side connection string on two servers,but throws and "invalid parameter" error on another? All of the servers have been upgraded to 4.7.0, but one doesn't want to play nice.

  Maybe a file was overwritten during the upgrade? Did you need to have an entry in the proxy or configure trusted URLs?
