HTML5 - Establish link to the viewer from a child window

Hello,

 

We have a functionnality running in the Silverlight viewer who opens a web page and allow users searching for an address (Google Geocoder).

 

I need to implement it into the HTML5 viewer. How do I establish the bridge between the viewer and the child window?

 

In Silverlight, you just get the plugin from the reference window

 

_silverlightPlugin = window.opener.getSilverlightPlugin();

 

and then, you can access to any command

 

_silverlightPlugin.Content.essentialsViewer.RunCommand("BroadcastCurrentViewpoint", null);

 

However, the communication seems different with the HTML5 viewer. I looked at this post

but in our case, the viewer isn't embedded in a website. It is loaded directly from the host page. However, the viewer and the page are on the same domain so this shouldn't be a issue. How can I acces to the commands and events? Do I need to load/intialize the viewer?

  Hi Philippe,

   

  Please check out the Sandbox.html file included with the 2.9 viewer at (default location of) C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Html5Viewer\Resources\3rdPartyMaps\Sandbox.html

   

  This may help you with figuring out how to interface with the HTML5 viewer.
