What is the purpose of the phantomjs.exe file?

We noticed this running on our server, and are wondering why Geocortex is using this headless WebKit? Is it for sending info back to Geocortex Analytics? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you -Laura

 

I found it located here:

 

C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Core\NSRoot\Geocortex\Core\Roles\HtmlReporting\3.1.1.273\PhantomJS

  Hi Laura,

   

  If memory serves, PhantomJS was originally added server-side so that, when Essentials was tasked with printing things like charts, we could ensure that what it printed looked the same as what the user saw in the HTML5 viewer. I'll confirm (or debunk) that recollection with a developer tomorrow.

  Confirmed: PhantomJS is used for printing.
