GE 4.7.1\GVH2.8.2 viewer fails to start and says “The site failed to initialize.”

 

 

 

 

 

Failed to initialize site. The error was: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseStatusLine

 

 

 

The site failed to initialize.

 

To view the log on a desktop machine, press Ctrl + Shift + ~. On a mobile device, press and hold the toolbar.

 

 

 

What could be the issue here?

  Any more clue from developer tool console or geocortex log?

  Hi,

   

  I loaded the viewer myself and it worked. I assume there was an issue with one of the ArcGIS Services and that was resolved?

  Thanks Francesca Operti,

   

  We noticed that this issue started when we enabled HTTPS connection.

   

  If we use HTTP,then the issue disappeared.

  Hi,

   

  Review your site configuration, you have HTTP ArcGIS Service connections. Once you apply SSL to the HTML5 viewer any content it loads must be done through HTTPS.

  HI Mike,

   

  We left HTTP Arcgis service connwctions since we have another server reads from this site with no SSL certificate.

   

  do we have to add viewer with HTTPS  ?

  Hi,

   

  Yes, you cannot apply SSL to the viewer unless all content within the site is also secured with SSL.
