Upload Data: Shapefile Zip. Upload Data Error An unknown error has occurred.

Anyone else run into this issue or have ideas on a fix?

Internet Explorer 11

 

IE 11 is throwing an error when using "Upload Data" and passing it a zip containing shapefiles.  Firefox, Edge, and Chrome do not throw this error.

 

The error popup:

Upload Data Error

An unknown error has occurred.

Despite this error message the shapefiles are added to the layer list and the fields appear to have the correct content when inspecting.

The console shows this error.

  Hi Tyson, 

   

  I did a check on our bug tracker; it sounds like it might be related to GVH-9992, which returns a similar error and is specific to internet explorer 11, but was only ever reproduced with kml and gpx files.  That one had to do with an issue in Esri's geometry engine, and it looks like it might be resolved in newer versions (I could reproduce it on 2.8.1, but not 2.10)

   

  Do you know this is happening for all of your shapefiles, or just some in particular?  You could try using the Upload Data tool on the LA County public demo (http://gedemo.geocortex.com/Html5Viewer/Index.html?viewer=La_County.La_County)  to see if your test shapefiles work on the newest version.  If so, you might want to consider updating, and if not, I'd recommend opening a support case so that we can track down the cause.
