Does changing the list of layers break saved projects?
A user asked that I add a layer to our app. The following week another user mentioned that her saved map was not working (strange collection of layers, exports and queries showing wrong results). Would the additional layer have broken her saved map?

Hi Ethan,
I realize this is a late reply but I just had a chance to test this, using the LA County site, and I was not able to make it fail. I tried adding and removing layers and altering markup. Did you ever get to the bottom of the issue?
FYI, I was using the most current version for today, GE 4.9 and GVH 2.10.

Wayne, I've had this come up again on an app that was in flux (added many new layers) in which the user claimed a query saved in a project got screwed up. I'll be looking into this over the next few days and i think the fundamental question is: Can a project be repaired? 0 -
Hi Ethan,
There must be a certain set of steps that breaks it, it would be good to figure out what it is. I am not aware of a project repair method, it would need to be looked at individually. The project data is saved in the document store Core data as json so it's pretty cryptic and not easily read. All I can suggest is to evaluate the effort required to recreate the project(s), if it's unfeasible our Professional Services group can look into it and see if editing the data is an option.

I'd like to take a look at the json. What folder is it in? 0 -
The data is stored here -
C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Core\Data\DocumentStore\DocumentStore\Wayner410\nodes\0\indices\docs_geocortex_essentials_users_documents
but it's broken into shards, I would recommend viewing it using the "head plugin". The head plugin was removed from the latest version, please see this KBA for the reasons why and instructions on how to add it back in, if that's what you want to do -

Ah, Its encoded json. Much more exciting. I'll have to contact professional services lest I'm forced to tell users not to trust saving a project. 0
