Increasing Number of Query Results Beyond 1000
Hi Everyone,
This is likely a somewhat elementary question, but here goes: When I perform queries, only up to 1000 results are retrieved, even though I know that more results satisfying the query do exist. In the parameters for the ArcGIS map service, the "Maximum number of records returned by the server" parameter is set to 1000. Is fixing this just a simple matter of increasing this number in the service editor? If so, what are the possible ramifications other than slower performance?
Thanks!
Jennifer

Yes. I've upped a number of them to 5,000 and not had any impacts. Just a matter of resources - if set too high, then server could be spinning its wheels for a while... 0 -
Thanks, Mike! I upped it to 5,000 and performance seems fine so far. 0 -
I think part of the answer also lies in who your intended audience is. I keep the level low for our public sites. I raised them for internal users who use the site regularly and likely recieved some training, and might actually have a business need to query many thousands of parcel or address records... 0
