Why does a Base map show multiple times in the selector?

Essentials 4.8.2 HTML5 2.9.1

 

Why does the icon for my Street Map base map show up twice in the selector?  It shows as the selected Base map, and as two separate icons in the selector.  The Street Map service is only in my Map Service list once and only listed in my Base Maps once.  Why does it show up twice in the selector?

  Did you look at the site xml?  What does it say?

       <BaseMap DisplayName="StreetMap" ID="3" />

   

  </BaseMaps>

   

  Yet, the Street Map shows up twice in the chooser. Three times if you count the one as the currently selected BaseMap.

  There's nothing being pulled down from a parent site?   This is super wierd.  I take it id's 0 and 1 are gone, not defined in some cordoned-off section of the xml.  You might need to take apart the js that builds those basemaps in the viewer to find this... might fall under a bug though so Latitude should cover it.
