TLS 1.2 Supported?
Hello,
I know about the article below stating the workaround for TLS 1.2:
So, essentials is built on the 4.0 framework which doesn't inheriently have a mechanism to connect via TLS 1.2. The work around is to make use of the SchUseStrongCrypto registry setting to require all .NET applications to use TLS 1.2 instead of 1.0 by default. See the Knowledge Base article below.

So will TLS1.2 ever be supported in Geocortex? Which version?
It is already supported by ArcGIS Server.

Hi,
Unfortunately, there are no current plans to rebuild Essentials using a newer version of the .NET Framework. The registry change is the only way to get Essentials to connect to ArcGIS Services secured with TLS 1.2.
Thanks,

Ok Mike thanks for the respose. 0 -
Hi,
https://docs.geocortex.com/essentials/latest/install-help/Default.htm#ge/install/system-requirements.htm page mentions that Essentials requires .NET Framework 4.5 or newer. Is it true about just 4.9 release or also about previous releases. Secondly, if it is true then will it support TLS 1.2 or still no hope?
Thanks0 -
Hi,
The 4.5 Framework requirement is not related to this issue. The registry change will likely always be required for Essentials to support TLS 1.2.
Thanks,

Recently, everyone received an e-mail from ESRI that they are going to only use tls 1.2 with AGOL from February 2019. Does this mean that this rgistry change will need to be applied to all VMs which have Geocortex installed in order to use ArcGIS online basemaps? 0 -
Or do we instead follow this article instead to ensure no issues will happen with TLS 1.2 switch in AGOL:

Correct, you will likely need to use this article to add the registry settings -

unless your server already has them.
