Slow Workflows since migration to SSL

Our web services were https, but we just changed and required GE to also run over HTTPS only.  Now all of our workflows are taking a really long time to run.  The Update Features activity in particular is taking forever just to update a point.  I'm assuming I missed a setting or configuration somewhere.  Any ideas?

  Anyone have any ideas on how to speed up the Update Features activity or what might be slowing it down?  It is still painfully slow to make a simple update.

  Are you sure it's the Update Features activity? I would run Fiddler to confirm.  We have been using HTTPS for a while and don't seem to notice any issues with speed.

  Hi Dan,

   

  Yes, I've been able to isolate it and it's definitely the Update Features activity.  It's a very simple workflow - - select a point and click on the spot where you want to move it.  I'm not sure what is causing it...some days it is slower than others.

  Well, I think I figured out the problem.  Since users are only updating or moving features (they are not creating new nor deleting existing), the feature access operations on the map service were set to only allow updates (Create and Delete were disabled). I edited the feature service to allow Create and Delete and now the Update Features activity works quickly again.   This wasn't a problem in the past, so I'm not sure why it made a difference.  I'm just glad moving a point takes a second instead of 2 minutes!
