    Don,

Okay, now I know what you meant.  This functionality is the result of the 2.8 product release.  It is the item described in the Release Notes as "results list now supports grouping of results by layer".  The "go back in panel" came with this enhancement.

By the way, this "enhancement" came as the default when upgrading.  It has its pros and cons.  On some applications where results are likely to have multiple features from multiple layers, it is a very nice enhancement.

For situations where you only have one result per layer, the enhancement means extra unneeded clicks.

    See my post regarding this:

I highly recommend doing your next update on a test server first so you can see how this change affects your applications.  I had done a good bit of work on what is displayed in the results at 2.7.2.  When I moved to 2.8+, I had to reconfigure quite a few things for certain applications (what Fire and Police use in responding to events).  I was glad to have seen this in the test environment first so I knew what had to be done when upgrading live apps.

For apps like the Cemetery Viewer, the extra clicks are okay so I left it how the upgrade changed it.

John, thanks for the reply that will be a good option before we upgrade.

Carmen, thanks for the reply. The back button will be helpful for going back out of related results, but, I see how it would be a pain for single result identifies. Thanks for your other link as well. I will definitley take your advice and do this in the test environment first as it seems like a substantial change.

    Thanks!
