layer catalog for signed in users only

Hi, i'm wondering if i can hide or make unavailable the layer catalog tool unless a user is signed in.  i.e. the tool would only be available for signed in users.

  Hi Matt

   

  I achieved this by creating a super simple RunExternalCommand workflow that triggers the ShowLayerCatalog command.  I then created a button in the toolbar tab,  attached the workflow and only gave cetain users/AD Group members permissions to see that button.
