GetGraphicsLayerContent can't fetch mark up added by AddMarkupGeometry if it's not rotated
Happy New Year everyone. My first Geocortex question for 2018 goes this (actually has it in 2017)…
I have a workflow, which allows user to choose from a list of feature templates (e.g. a 9x9 grid, or 5x5 cell grid.) to place on map as mark up , then user can shift and/or rotate the whole grid to fit where they should be.
Using Geocortex Essentials Workflow, with AddMarkupGeometry external command I’m able to add a polyline or polygon feature as mark up and able to use the “Drawings” tool to move, rotate, and edit the shape. After the editing, I could use GetGraphicsLayerContent with “Drawings” as the Graphic Layer Id to get the modified geometry back as featureset. However, this only works if the mark up was rotated, or not shifted. If I just shift the mark up, or just move some of the vertices, without rotate the mark up, it seems GetGraphicsLayerContent couldn’t grab the it from the Drawings graphic layer. I have had this issue since GHV2.7, and now we’ve upgrade it to 2.9.1 and still have the same issue. Can the support team please have a look and confirm if this could be replicated? Thank you.

Hi Jack,
I wrote a quick workflow that gets the Drawings graphics layer, and I can't see the issue as you describe. No matter how I manipulate the markup it always comes back with my Get Graphics Layer Content activity.
If you can consistently reproduce the issue can you open a Support case, so we can do a screen-share and watch how you are doing it? That way we can either determine if there's something in your environment that is losing the Featureset or if there's a bug in the product that is breaking the workflow.
Thanks!

Jack,
Was there a resolution to this problem?

Hi Richard, we hasn't got a real solution for that, but ask the user to make sure rotate the markup, even just a bit. Saying that, we hasn't test it since 2.11. Also we're moving our workflows to Workflow5, would be interesting to see whether it handles it better. 0
