Remove fields from being displayed in query tool?

Can I remove fields from being displayed in the defualt query tool (and filter tool for that matter)?

  Hi Michael, 

   

  In Essentials manager you can configure what fields are visible by using the Field tab once you edit the layer from the layer list in the Map module. 

  Click on add/Remove fields to configure what fields you want to show/hide.

   

  Keep in mind, this controls the field visibility for the entire service so if you choose to hide a field, that field will be hidden from the query tool, details view, and all other places.

  Thanks Ali,

   

  The problem is that I want the field to show in other places (such as Long Description, etc.).  I only want to remove the fields from appearing in the query and filter tools AND not anywhere else.  It sounds like this is an all or nothing problem, but I do believe it makes sense to have the ability to exclude certain fields from querying but still show them in the various descriptions once the particular records are seleted/filtered.

  You can use fields in your feature description, long description, reports, etc. regardless of whether you choose to hide or show them on the Fields tab. That tab only controls what will show up in the Details section of your feature details.

  Hi Michael, 

   

  Like John mentioned, you can hide fields and then still use them (with replacement tokens) in the feature description.  But if you wanted to hide fields from the query tool and not the feature details page, then we don't yet have an option for that and I would recommend posting an Idea for it.  If that was the case, I think the best way to suggest the idea would be probably be to request a "include in filter/query tool" option on the Fields configuration tab in manager, similar to the "Include in Global Search" option there.
