Geocortex Workflow 5 or Essentials Workflow?

What is the difference between Geocortex Workflow 5 and Essentials Workflow? Can i use workflow designed in one into another? And custom activities in both are different or same?

  Workflows created in each Designer are specific to the workfow type, since the version that ships with Essentials uses .xaml files and the Workflow 5 Designer uses .json files.

  The process for creating custom activities is more user-friendly in Workflow 5 and has an excellent readme to walk you through the process.

  Is there somewhere I can find the differences between the two? Like I'm looking for the Send Email or Export Map. Or am I not looking in the right place for them?

  Send Mail is a server side activity, there are no server side activities in Workflow 5.

   

  I don't think Export Map is available as activity in Workflow 5.Perhaps you can use Send Web Request to do a request to https://SERVER/Geocortex/Essentials/INSTANCE/Rest/sites/SITE/map/export

  Hello Linda,

  The link that I included above provides the best explanation for the differences between the two technologies. Currently, there is no WF5 equivalent of the Send Mail activity If you are interested in this, please add it as an Idea in the Community (https://communities.geocortex.com/workflow/s/ideas).

  There is also no Export Map equivalent, though you could use a Run Command activity with a ShowExportMapDialog command and have the user interact to export when running the workflow in GVH. This is on our roadmap for future releases.
