Is your IIS configuration for Manager set to only allow Authenticated access (i.e. anonymous is disabled)?  The default app pool for manager is usually EssentialsAdministrationAppPool4.  Not sure how changing it to the IdentityServerAppPool app pool would affect the authentication.

    Hi Ashraf,

This is expected behaviour unless you are entering valid credentials.  If you run the Post Installer, the "Configure Sign In Options" page will list who can log into Manager.  The default setting is BUILTIN\Administrators meaning that any local admins on the server can log in to Essentials Manager.   You can change this to a domain group if you wish.  If you are using the credentials of a valid user, try hitting the esc key when prompted for credentials and see if you are prompted with a different looking user/password dialog (Identity Server dialog).    If so, try your credentials on this dialog.
