Attribute Edits Only

We have to set up a quick editing interface.  While I am editing it, I am making a mess of the data by moving features around.  All I want to do is edit the attributes.  Is there a way to restrict editing to only attributes.  

 

I am afraid our users will make a mess of things!!

  Hi Michael,

   

  Could you think of creating a simple workflow where user can select a feature (or workflow called by right click context menu) and use a display form activity with the populated list of attributes that user can change. Once that user confirms change workflow could save them back to the feature set ...

  Is the feature layer published through ArcGIS for Server? If so, you can restrict the editing options using the Feature Access options.

   

  

   

  Create: Make new features

   

  Delete: Delete existing features

   

  Update: Update existing feature attribute values - just use this one if all you want is attribute edits

   

  Allow geometry updates: Move existing features
