How to reduce the Initial Load page (page which loads before actual site) time. In the Developer's tool we can see that "esri.js" and certain other libraries are taking more than 12 seconds. How to improve this time?

We just ran into this same issue, although in our case the esri.js was taking between 25-30 seconds (avg. ~1 sec. / 100kb). The .js files are all being downloaded from our own servers - not from Esri - where are yours loaded from?
What we found - but have no good explanation for - is that switching from http to https increased performance dramatically (esri.js loaded in < 0.5 sec.). We suspect this may have something to do with security measures not being able to inspect encrypted packets and therefore they are transmitted quicker but this is pure speculation on our part.

Do either of you have live virus scanning going on? Peter, maybe since yours became https, it is no longer getting scanned? 0 -
@Peter, I am encountering the same issue. esri.js is taking 19 sec. even it is being downloaded from my own server and https enabled. but still took 19 sec or more. esri.js is taking the longest time in launching the viewer. how can I improve this loading speed? 0 -
Are you on the current versions of the software? I noticed a huge improvement. 0
