Maptips/identify get extra info from web service request

Is there a way to get extra information from a webrequest when a user clicks on map tips or identify.

 

eg I have a point layer that can get extra details from a webrequest as  json or xml. I would like the end user to only click once on the point and have it perform the web request and then display the information as a map tip.

 

Can this be done?

  Hi,

   

  This isn't possible out of the box with the HTML5 Viewer but could possibly be done with a custom module.
