Loading Projects - hangs - no error messges anywhere
I have a customer who created and saved a project (GE 4.9.0). When he tries to open it, it zooms to the correct area of the map, but then doesn't proceed. The "loading project" dialog remains and the user is unable to interact with the application.
I ran the developer tool in Edge and Chrome and no errors or warnings are being recorded. The GE server logs also don't report any problems. I was able to see the project through the GE Manager and it too doesn't look any different than other projects. Also, other projects seem to load just fine.
How do I troubleshoot this? Any advice?

Hi Mike,
Do the projects that load fine come from the same site? We have seen issues with duplicate layer names and group names causing trouble. If you can load other projects from the same site OK that would likely eliminate that cause.
The project data is stored in with the Core data, did you check the Core logs as well? C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Core\Data\Logs\DocumentStore for example.

Yes - Some projects that load fine are coming from the same site as the ones that don't load.
I checked the logs from within the Geocortex Core and nothing came up. I also went through the process of trying to load the problematic project, followed by checking the logs again. Still, nothing appeared.
Are there any other logs worth looking at and/or should I change the logging level to something more verbose?
I plan to pick through the JSON code of the project to see if I can find anything odd.. along with comparing it to a project that loads fine.0 -
Hi Mike,
There is no guarantee that a log entry will be created, it could be a silent error. I think at this point, your only choice is what you mentioned, checking the JSON file although this sounds cumbersome.

I think I may have figured it out. The viewer configuraiion was masking out a single layer from a given map service. The viewer also included a Layer Catalog. The Layer Catalog was using that same map service, but was masking out a different set of layers. The fact that it was using the same map service seemed to be problem. Any projects that included layers from that map service, through the layer catalog ran into problems.
Once the map service was removed from the viewer configuration, the projects loaded without issue.

Hi
We got the same error here. "Load Project" message took forever. What we have done
- Clear cache, reloaded the site. Same result
- Check DocumentStore core log file, no error found.
- Restarted Geocortex Core service, but still same result.
Wonder if anyone can guide on where I can check Json file for Project?

Hi @Steven Chen,
You can view a Project's JSON by opening Manager, click the Security & Data tab > Data Store > Documents. Select the Project you are interested in, hit the Document Information (i) icon and hit Open Content.
